6 .Goddess Katyayani
The story goes that there was a sage named Katyayana . He practiced penance for many years to win over the Goddess. He wanted The Goddess to take birth as his daughter, and it so happened his wish was accepted. Meanwhile Mahisasura ( a demon ) who had been creating havoc appeared. So, the three Gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva joined together and created the Goddess to destroy the demon. But the sage Katyayana had to first offer to worship her. So he called her Katyayani. She accepted his offer and killed Mahisasura. Her complexion is radiant and golden, with two pairs of arms and holds a lotus and a sword
